I've done a female tutorial already, but this one is just a small, detailed thing to help with proportions and what not. It's also based off of my own body, so it's fairly accurate.

I didn't include hair because that's not important. But all the proportions should be easy enough to figure out from this. Hope it helps you, Mad-Rev! If you want that live tutor session, let me know!

Proportions :
:bulletred: Humans are 6-7 heads tall
For a 7-head tall person:
:bulletorange: Shoulder width of females is about 1 1/2 heads
:bulletyellow: neck--->breast= 1 head
:bulletgreen: breasts--->pelvis (hip)= 1 head
:bulletblue: pelvis (hip)---> mid thigh= 1 head
:bulletpurple: mid thigh---> knee=1 head
:bulletwhite: knee---> mid shin= 1 head
:bulletblack: mid shin---> feet=1 head

Of course, you can adjust your proportions within this model! Just remember to keep it between 6-7 heads for proportion purposes! :)

Also, some extra tips:
For "realistic" drawings of the face (mostly)
:bulletred: the space between your eyes is equivalent to one eye
:bulletorange: your nose width is about the width between your pupils (the black part of your eyes)
:bulletyellow: Ears are the length from your eyebrows to your nose.
:bulletgreen: Lips equal your entire eye lenth from corner to corner
:bulletblue: Face in 3 parts: hairline--->eyebrow, brow--->upper lip, upper lip---> beggining of neck. ALL THREE PARTS should be equal!

Also remember that females (in general) are SMALLER than men!

You know, it's so difficult to find body proportions other than the 8 heads standard... I know it's easier to remember but it's extremely tall for a woman, not to mention that women are smaller than men :no:

Also, I don't like the "artistic" proportions too much because it's extremely overdone

and then there are weird people like me with VERY wide hips tiny waists and narrow shoulders.....~REAL LIFE ANIME CHARACTERS AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY~

I love that you use realistic proportions not the artistic ones. I think they add the extra head length in to thing out the more 'awkward' joints like ankles knees and the neck just so that no matter how they lay the weight elsewhere the person looks more fluid. That's just what I've found though.

OK, hope it helps! A quick note: these are for REALISTIC proportions, not artistic proportions. Artistic proportions are slightly elongated (I have no idea why). I draw with realistic proportions, so I can't help you with artistic ones. ^^

Yep, I realize that. I guess I should have said "what you start off with." I'm sorta stuck with 8 heads, need to start going outside that box. 8 heads is pretty tall. Women aren't usually so tall. I like tall women lol.

lol oh, I suck at artistic proportions. XD I can't do them at all lol. 8 heads tall NEVER looks right to me or in my style. I've tried it.... oy. ^^; No, we girls usually aren't. I most certainly am not tall. only 4'11" sob
