Female Body Tutorial by Goddess-Chachi Female Body Tutorial by Goddess-Chachi
Live Tutorial set 2.

These are some simple guidelines I use to draw female bodies. There are, of course, many ways to draw the female body, so please don't think that this is the ONLY way to work it.

My personal style is a it of a mix between traditional shojo and shonen manga styled proportions (from reading Shonen as a child and Shojo as an adult XD), therefore I find my porportions to be a bit more on a "realistic" scale than both genres. Shojo tends to make women too "generic" (except for the "sexy" types, but even they are rarely over the top) and shonen nearly always makes females too masculine.

Women vary in shape so much that their very shape can determine their entire personality. The "non-curve" types are almost always tomboyish and insecure, the "sex symbol" type is almost always sultry and witty in some way (or dumb as hell), and the "muscular/thick" types tend to fall into the "motherly", "butch", or "ugly background women" catagories. HOWEVER, this does NOT mean that the body types are "absolute law" to the personalities of women. In fact, if women can overcome their body shape's sterotype, they then almost automatically become a more interesting character *hint hint*

Helpful Hints:
ADULT women, like men, are about 6-7 heads tall
Women (for the most part) have an HOURGLASS shaped figure of some sort
Women's breasts are NOT always stereotypical to body type (i.e.-"sex symbols" don't always have D-cups), so don't think that your "tomboy" can't go packing cleavage~
"PREGNANCY" is little more than a circle on any type of body's stomach*. The size of said circle depends on the baby's development and the number of offpring being carried**
CHILD females have more of the "non-curve" type, or even a "thin male" body structure
Overall, females are generally smaller in every aspect of the body compared to males (legs, arms, neck, torso, waist, etc.) THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT MEN CAN'T BE SMALLER THAN WOMEN. This is JUST a genral statement.

*does not apply to the "thick" body type, as pregnancy can be hard to show, or already assumed. Muscles CAN hide a pregnancy very well
**the more fetuses in the womb, the more OVAL SHAPED the bulge becomes.
1-2: circle
3-4: oval-ish
5+: oblong disc shape
A good reference example of a sextuplet pregnancy is "John & Kate+8". Kate has a photo of her carrying SIX (6) of her children before delivery. VERY OVALLY.

Sure, feel free to :)
These came out great and are very helpful. Maybe nexttime can be some child male/female looks since these are more teen/adult like.
