A more sensitive side of Fright that I can finally showcase because of the latest update.

I've hinted at Fright's insecurities plenty, so I feel comfortable enough to eplain this much. Fright is like your neighborhood sociopathic bully: he hurts others to mask his own pain. As for his past, I won't reveal that just yet, but there are some spoilers in this image to let you know what's going on in his head at the moment.

Fright joined Crystal's team as a method of becoming stronger. Like Tepi, he has a strong desire to be strong, but he's more selfish than his love interest, and is more interested in keeping himself alive. However, because it was Crystal that pulled him out of his enviornment, he reveres her kind of like his god... she's his savior. So while he's always teasing her, he's taken a vow to never cause her serious harm.

And then Roxxi died.

Fright felt like he made a blasphemous mistake in not making sure Roxxi made it out, especially since she was paralyzed (in game). He went ahead, turned his back for only a moment, and had to watch a person he actually respected die. To make matters worse, Crystal passed out before the battle even started, so his "savior" isn't even aware of the lost. Thus Fright becomes terrified that Crystal will blame him for the loss and abandon him. It also doesn't help that he sensed her disdain towards Pidgeys when she first caught him (Crystal was still smarting from Patti's death in the 1st gym). Fright is very insecure when it comes to himself.

Insecure bullies like Fright make the best trolls.

If I did the extra featuring Fright, it would explore this insecure part of him a bit deeper... and you guys WONDER what I see in Fright...

Fright has always been my favorite(since Patti died) and this just makes me love him more, honestly.

.....omg. Poor Fright! ;-; I knew he had some unrevealed past history, but I honestly never suspected that this kind of emotional turmoil was running through his head.

PLEASE do the extra with him. I'm dying to see more of his true personality, especially after this.

Well, it is an endearing and interesting side. I hope he gets better. It's especially touching how he's worried about Crystal hating him. It's realistic, which I like, and gives him dimension.

What a complex... I can't say that I've ever hated Fright, but he's not one of my fave poke'mon you have caught, I've always been right down the middle since he joined the team, but this art, it makes me feel really bad for him, like I want to hug him even if he doesn't seem like the type to want a hug.
I just love the way you've drawn Fright, I really envy the way you can draw Ginjika's so well, his wings are probably what get's me most in this image, they look so natural even when he's sitting hunched up like that.
